چکیده
H2 generation from photocatalytic water splitting is one of the most promising approaches to producing cost-effective and sustainable fuel. Nanostructured TiO2 a highly stable efficient semiconductor photocatalyst for this purpose. The main drawback as sluggish charge transfer on surface that can be tackled great extent by use platinum group materials (PGM) co-catalysts. However, scarcity high cost PGMs issues prevent widespread TiO2/PGM systems generation. Single-atom catalysts which are currently frontline in catalysis field favorable path overcome further advance noble metals. More importantly, single-atom (SA) simultaneously have advantage homogenous heterogeneous catalysts. This mini-review specifically focuses single atom decoration nanostructures splitting. latest progress fabrication, characterization, application single-atoms reviewed.

Comparison of photocatalytic and transport properties of TiO2 and ZnO nanostructures for solar-driven water splitting.
Titanium dioxide (TiO2) and zinc oxide (ZnO) nanostructures have been widely used as photo-catalysts due to their low-cost, high surface area, robustness, abundance and non-toxicity. In this work, four TiO2 and ZnO-based nanostructures, i.e. TiO2 nanoparticles (TiO2 NPs), TiO2 nanotubes (TiO2 NTs), ZnO nanowires (ZnO NWs) and ZnO@TiO2 core-shell structures, specifically prepared with a fixed th...
متن کاملPhotocatalytic H2 evolution on MoS2-TiO2 catalysts synthesized via mechanochemistry.
At present, composite photocatalysts containing MoS2 as a co-catalyst and a subjective semiconductor material are usually obtained via various complex reduction methods using NH4MoS4 or Na2MoO4 as a precursor. In this work, a simple method was proposed to synthesize MoS2-TiO2 composite photocatalysts via mechanochemistry using MoS2 as a direct precursor. 4.0% MoS2-TiO2 after ball-milling at 300...
متن کاملSite-specific photocatalytic splitting of methanol on TiO2(110)†
Clean hydrogen production is highly desirable for future energy needs, making the understanding of molecular-level phenomena underlying photocatalytic hydrogen production both fundamentally and practically important. Water splitting on pure TiO2 is inefficient, however, adding sacrificial methanol could significantly enhance the photocatalyzed H2 production. Therefore, understanding the photoch...

متن کاملAtom devices based on single dopants in silicon nanostructures
Silicon field-effect transistors have now reached gate lengths of only a few tens of nanometers, containing a countable number of dopants in the channel. Such technological trend brought us to a research stage on devices working with one or a few dopant atoms. In this work, we review our most recent studies on key atom devices with fundamental structures of silicon-on-insulator MOSFETs, such as...
